Planning Evaluation
The Idea
The idea is very simple, but is extremely easy to film and can be done quickly. This is both good and bad, as it speeds up the filming process drastically, but it leaves us with nothing to put in the rest of the video. As we didn't take many shots to use for the green screen. I was the main person and only person in the video, and all I had to do was sit at a desk for a few minutes whilst they filmed me. This is the first time I have been the "main star" in a college video, and it was extremely easy, but this is mainly down to the fact the idea we used was very basic and I didn't have to do anything.
Storyboard, shot list and recce
The advantages of using a storyboard are that you can visualize certain scenes of your production without having to film them. This gives you a chance to think about shot angles. shot types and positioning of key elements of your scene.

Using a shot list means that it is much easier when filming as the group is much more organized, and you know exactly what shots you need to get. This helps to make the filming process more efficient, as it massively cuts down the time you spend wondering what shot you want to get next, as you have already thought about shot types and length before starting the filming.

We could have made many improvements during planning, the main improvement we could've made is adding more variety and different ideas to the storyboard and shot list. I don't feel that there is anything we specifically overlooked, as the filming process was very simple and had only one problem which had nothing to do with the planning stage.
Filming
Evaluation
Filming
The filming process was extremely simple. We booked out the green screen room and used our own camera. One problem we had was that the camera we bought didn't properly attach onto the tripods at college. This meant we just had to balance the camera on top and hope it didn't fall. The filming went very well but I feel that we didn't film enough variation of the footage. The footage we have is all the same and gets very boring very quickly. Whilst filming we stuck exactly to the plan which was laid out. The video we filmed was not the most visually pleasing and was definitely very underwhelming to look at before I started editing.
Editing
Evaluation
Premier Pro
I have done some of my editing in Premier Pro, such as ordering the footage and replacing the green screen with an empty black screen. I also added rain effects and a VHS effect. To create the VHS Effect, I created an adjustment layer and added the wave warp effect and changed the effect settings. I then edited the colour balance using the colour balance RGB effect and copied the clip three times. Changing different colours on each clip, I created a VHS effect. I also added an overlay to add glitchy VHS lines.

To add the rain, I used a rain overlay from the internet.

In After Effects, I spent many hours doing frame by frame drawings to make small animations to fit with the lyrics of the song, These animations are shaky and not extremely high quality, but I feel that this fits with the theme of the song very well and if they were all perfect ut would not look anywhere near as interesting. Making these animations is a very simple process, but takes an extremely long time. To draw on the video in After Effects, you select the brush tool and then you can change the colour, thickness and hardness of the brush. I believe that this editing helped the video a lot, as if I hadn't put this much effort into the edit, there would be no interesting part to the music video. I particularly like the editing at the end, as I put the most time into it and it came out looking great. The red and white stand out a lot on the black background, which is why I used those colours.

It was challenging to decide what to do during the parts of the song where there are no lyrics, so I added a video of a puddle and overlayed the definition of agoraphobic (the title of the song), Doing this means that people who don't know what the word means will learn and know more about what the song is about.

The editing is by far the most important element of this music video because the actual raw footage is very basic and boring, so editing it into an interesting visual was very important.
